Private Accessible 6 hour Grenada Shore Excursion
Tour Description
The Private Accessible 6 hour Grenada Shore Excursion is a fun way to spend your day in the beautiful, tropical paradise of Grenada. You'll get a chance to see some of the most popular attractions on the island including St. George’s Marina and Grand Mal Bay, and capture the spectacular views of the Grand Etang Rainforest! Have your camera ready!
On this accessible shore excursion your private driver/guide will meet you at the Grenada cruise dock in a spacious air-conditioned van. After boarding the van, you'll enjoy a beautiful scenic drive with lively commentary by your friendly, knowledgeable guide. Look out for the beautiful traditional plantation homes and exotic wildlife, as you make your way to Fort George, the oldest fort in Grenada! The famous fort, which is basically a bastion, was established by the French in 1705. Today, it functions as the home to the Royal Grenada Police force, but sections of it is still open to the public (Notice of disabled visitors to the fort is required in advance. We will take care of this for you).
On this accessible tour of Grenada, you'll travel back in time, as you learn about the troubled history of the country and its role as a strategic military location. Visit the 1983 Operation Urgent Fury memorial, which stands as a memory of the fallen soldiers in the US-led invasion of Grenada. You'll see where the US amphibious tanks came ashore and also experience the famous Maurice Bishop Airport, which you will learn, is much more than just an airport to the people of Grenada.
Escorted by your private guide, get ready for a fun opportunity to interact with some friendly local monkeys, who might come sit on your shoulders! The playful monkeys love to pose for the camera, and even more so if you share a snack with them!
For this accessible guided tour, it is necessary for the disabled traveler to transfer to a regular seat in the van as there is no ramp available. The mobility equipment can be stored in the van and taken out to use whenever needed.
