Private Accessible 4 hour Malaga Cathedral and Plaza de la Constitución Driving Tour
Tour Description
This 4 Hour Malaga shore excursion gives you a perfect glimpse of the picturesque Costa del Sol town. Escorted by your tour guide, you will enjoy a memorable stroll in the heart of Malaga, experiencing the majestic Alcazaba Moorish fort, the Roman theatre, and El Pimpi Bodega. You will also enjoy an interior visit to the glorious Malaga Cathedral and have time for some leisurely time in the historic Plaza de la Constitucion for shopping or coffee.
Start your tour by meeting your tour guide and accessible van at the cruise dock. From here, you will set out on a short drive to the city center. Upon arrival, you will head out on a slow-paced, leisurely stroll through the beautiful city center. Your tour guide will narrate you through different sites, as you admire the impressive exterior of the Alcazaba Moorish fort, ancient Roman ruins, and the famous El Pimpi Bodega.
Next, your tour continues with an interior visit to the glorious Malaga Cathedral. The Cathedral is an impressive example of Renaissance and Baroque style architecture and was built between 1528 and 1782. An interesting fact about the Cathedral is that due to lack of funds to finish completing the planned two towers, the structure only has one tower. It’s called “La Manquita” which means the one-armed woman. During your visit inside the Cathedral, admire the beautiful, detailed work which includes exquisite choir stalls with extravagant carvings and the two rare and beautiful organs with more than 4,000 pipes.
On the final part of your tour, you will stroll along the pedestrianized shopping street Calle Marques de Larios, before continuing to the stunning and Plaza de la Constitucion for some leisurely time on your own. This Plaza is the main square of the city and it holds a significance in both the city’s past and present. In fact, it has served at a public space since the 15th century! While here, you can admire the beautiful well-preserved Spanish architecture and the historic Fuente de Genova fountain, and enjoy the many charming cafes and small shops.
