Private Accessible 5 hour San Juan Shore Excursion
Tour Description
The Private Accessible 5 hour San Juan Shore Excursion is perfect for the disabled traveler who wants to experience the fascinating history and culture of San Juan!
This accessible San Juan Shore Excursion will begin as you meet your driver and guide at the San Juan cruise dock or accessible hotel in a private, wheelchair accessible mini-bus. Enjoy a comfortable, short ride from the cruise dock through this charming colonial city as you make your way to the first stop of the day, the walled fortress, Castillo San Cristobal. Built by the Spanish to protect against land based attacks, the original walls encompassed the city. While part of the walls have been demolished to ease the flow of traffic in and out of the city, it is still an impressive fortification and a “must-see” when visiting San Juan. On the ground level of the fort, you'll find an exhibition hall with old artifacts as well as an accessible theater room, showing a short video of the history of the fort. The next level of the fort is available to wheelchair users by using an elevator. Escorted by your private tour guide, you'll stroll around the old structure, see some of the "rooms" and spectacular fort views and visit the souvenir ship. Please note the top level of the fort is not wheelchair accessible.
After your time exploring the fort, your accessible tour will continue to a traditional island restaurant - more like an experience! Enjoy island food, music and servers dressed in old traditional clothes. The venue is fully accessible with ramps and accessible restrooms (cost not included).
This shore excursion of accessible San Juan is full of fantastic photo opportunities and breathtaking views of the bay. Be transported to another world as your driver and guide escort you through the various lookout points with the most spectacular views.
Your day will end in the charming Old Town San Juan and the fully accessible boulevard, Paseo de la Princesa. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the flat surfaced area, peppered with local vendors, food stands and sometimes live music. There are beautiful waterviews at the end of the Boulevard!
Conclude your shore excursion with a comfortable ride back to the San Juan cruise dock in your air conditioned, wheelchair accessible van.
