June – July 2023 (2 months)

Project Components:

Accessibility assessment of the public reas and cabins on MSC World Europa

Application of accessibility standards (ADA, ISO 21542, ISO 21902, Sage Best Practices)

MSC Cruises partnered with Sage Inclusion to evaluate and enhance accessibility aboard the MSC World Europa, one of its flagship vessels. By collaborating during the shipbuilding stage, Sage Inclusion helped MSC proactively identify and address accessibility barriers before the vessel’s completion.

Over a 3.5-month collaboration, the project delivered practical, actionable steps to ensure that guests of all abilities can fully enjoy the MSC World Europa cruising experience.

The comprehensive assessment covered all key guest areas, including embarkation and reception zones, internal routes, elevators, restrooms, cabins, dining venues, leisure facilities, as well as medical and entertainment spaces. Each element was evaluated against leading international accessibility standards, including ADA, ISO 21542, ISO 21902, and Sage Best Practices.

Upon completion, MSC Cruises was presented with a detailed Accessibility Assessment Report outlining key accessibility barriers and delivering clear, actionable recommendations to improve existing accessibility barriers, guest service, accessibility information, and marketing inclusivity.
