Ras Al Khaimah – Case Study
Ras Al Khaimah, one of the UAE’s fastest-growing tourism destinations, partnered with Sage Inclusion to improve accessibility across every stage of the visitor journey. The 22-month project covered 42 facilities including hotels, attractions, the international airport, and public transportation. Each site was reviewed for physical and digital accessibility, staff readiness, and inclusive policies to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for all travelers.
Sage experts applied international and UAE standards such as ISO 21542, ISO 21902, the UAE Universal Design Code, and RAK’s own building regulations. In addition to assessments, Sage has delivered five remote training modules for hospitality and attraction staff, covering food and beverage, housekeeping, front desk, and guest services. A Sage Accessibility Leadership Workshop prepared destination leaders to sustain accessibility long term, while competitor benchmarking identified how RAK measures against leading global destinations.
By project completion in 2025, Ras Al Khaimah will have a detailed accessibility roadmap that reduces compliance risks, enhances visitor satisfaction, and attracts loyal travelers worldwide.
